Teaching Bhagavad Gita in schools and colleges from this year itself
Education Minister BC Nagesh has said that it has been decided to start teaching Bhagavad Gita in schools and colleges of Karnataka from this year itself.
Speaking about this in the Parishad, MK Pranesh said that the government is saying that there is no proposal to teach Bhagavad Gita. Earlier it was said about forming a committee for teaching Bhagavad Gita. But now a different statement has come out. Is there any embarrassment for the government to teach Bhagavad Gita? He asked why there is no interest now.
In response to this, Education Minister BC Nagesh said that there is a discussion about teaching Bhagavad Gita in the moral education department from this year itself. He informed that a committee will be formed and a decision will be taken.
The government has already constituted a committee regarding teaching of Bhagavad Gita. A committee has been formed under the leadership of Education Minister BC Nagesh in which class to which classes should Bhagavad Gita be taught? The committee will give information about how moral education should be given. The education department has come forward to teach the song to the children through a separate text structure. He said that the education department is thinking of following the model of Gujarat and Banaras universities
The Department of Education has planned to teach Bhagavad Gita in the schools of the state from this year itself and has planned to teach Bhagavad Gita to the students of class 6-12 in all the schools of the state at the primary level. The Education Department is planning to teach the principles and values of Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and Mahabharata.
